More Than a Photography Studio
Musar Studio was created around a simple idea: the most powerful photographs are not manufactured — they are discovered by being there.
Musar Studio is a photography studio, a documentary project and an evolving journey shaped by people, landscapes, cities, coastlines and the sea.
At its centre is Musar, a sailing yacht becoming both a home on the water and a platform from which new stories can be discovered, photographed and shared.
The Photographer Behind Musar
My work comes from a background in press and documentary photography. I am drawn to real moments: people concentrating on what they are doing, communities experiencing change, unexpected encounters and the small details that often reveal more than the obvious photograph.
Photography becomes more meaningful when there is a story behind the frame.
That philosophy now extends beyond assignments and events. Musar Studio is becoming a place where commissioned photography, independent documentary work and exploration meet.
Photography With a Reason to Exist
Whether I am photographing a news event in London, a portrait, life aboard a sailing boat or a distant coastline, the objective remains the same: to create images that feel authentic, observant and human.
Why Musar?
Musar is more than the name of the studio. It is also the name of the sailing yacht at the heart of a much larger adventure.
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 is being prepared step by step for increasingly ambitious voyages. Every repair, improvement, departure, mistake and successful passage becomes part of the story.
The intention is not simply to sail from one destination to another. It is to use the journey to discover stories worth documenting: coastal communities, landscapes, maritime traditions, people and places that are easily passed by when travelling too quickly.
The Journey Is Part of the Work
Sometimes the photograph will be the destination. Sometimes it will be something completely unexpected that happens along the way.
That uncertainty is precisely what makes the project exciting.

Stories From the Shore
Musar Studio continues to work on land through press, documentary, editorial, event, portrait and commercial photography.
London remains an important part of the story: a city where politics, culture, protest, celebration and everyday life can change from one street to the next.
These assignments provide the immediacy of photography — moments that may exist for only a few seconds and will never happen in exactly the same way again.
Stories From the Sea
The sailing project opens another kind of opportunity. Travelling by sea changes the scale and rhythm of a journey.
Weather matters. Tides matter. Distance matters. The places between destinations suddenly become important.
It creates the conditions for a slower form of documentary work, where the voyage itself becomes part of the narrative.
An Evolving Project
Musar is deliberately not presented as a finished story.
The boat is evolving. My sailing experience is evolving. The photography is evolving. And the destinations ahead will inevitably change the direction of the project.
I want to document that process rather than hide it — from preparation and maintenance to navigation, passages, difficult decisions and the extraordinary moments that make the work worthwhile.
